The Journey of Bringing Pure Fibre to Your Neighbourhood
Planning with Purpose
Before embarking on our mission to bring you the extraordinary benefits of our 100% Pure Fibre Network, meticulous planning is required. Months of careful assessment of your community, designing a network that minimizes disruption, and securing the necessary permits all play a crucial role. It's important to note that town approvals for road occupancy permits, encroachment permits, municipal stamps on engineering drawings, and utility locate permits are prerequisites for construction, a step every network operator, including telMAX, must undergo.
Locating Utilities and Conduit Preparation
Once the town and key stakeholders grant their permits, our dedicated telMAX construction crews and trusted contractors begin preparing the conduit – the protective pipeline for individual fibre strands and essential infrastructure. This phase involves marking specific areas with coloured paint and/or flags to identify underground utilities, such as gas, water, hydro, or cables (known as "locate"). Please be mindful not to disturb or tamper with these utility markers. As we work to lay the conduit, you may observe directional drilling equipment, Hydro-Vac trucks, and drilling machinery in use. Although there might be some noise and dust during this process, rest assured that our teams adhere to stringent guidelines to minimize any inconvenience and maintain the area's safety and integrity.
Building the Future with Fibre
With the conduit in place, our construction crews embark on the next critical phase: building out the 100% Pure Fibre network. This entails installing the necessary infrastructure to connect every home in your neighbourhood. For your safety and the safety of our crews, please heed all road signs and take precautions around our vehicles and equipment. At various intervals, we'll also be working on the installation of fibre terminals and Ground Level Boxes (GLB) within municipal easements. These GLBs are specially designed to accommodate the various adapters required for fibre installation. Be assured that all construction and equipment installations will be located on municipally owned portions of your property.
Restoration and Care
As we conclude each infrastructure project, our commitment to residents extends to the restoration of affected areas to a condition that meets municipal standards. We undergo thorough inspections by each municipality before project sign-off. While we work diligently to avoid any property damage, rest assured that should any damage occur, we'll collaborate with licensed professionals to ensure your property is restored to its like condition.
Unlocking Limitless Possibilities with telMAX
Once our 100% Pure Fibre Internet is ready for you, upon signing up for telMAX services, our crew will create a shallow underground path or trench to connect the fibre from the main line to a demarcation box located near your utility box. A skilled technician will then complete the process by connecting your Internet service from a point of entry (typically a basement or utility room) to the optical network terminal (ONT) within your home. The ONT plays a crucial role in translating fibre light into a digital signal, ensuring seamless connectivity for your computer, TV and other devices. If you have moved into a location where telMAX previously provided service to your home or business, this will have already been completed.
